For shoppers in the USA
Cyprus, Greece and Europe, delivered to the USA
Cypriot shops deliver on the island, Greek shops deliver to Greece and Cyprus, and since the US ended duty-free imports in 2025 plenty of European shops have stopped shipping to America at all. They all deliver to Cyprus. Order to your Limassol address and we send it on to your door.
Why so many shops stopped shipping to the US
Until August 2025, a parcel worth under $800 entered the US free of duty. That allowance was suspended for every country in August 2025 and the suspension made indefinite in 2026, so every parcel is now dutiable, whatever its value. Rather than handle duty on small orders, many European shops, smaller ones especially, simply removed the US from their checkout.
They still deliver anywhere in the EU, and Cyprus is in the EU. We receive the order as any local customer would, and then do the customs work for the US leg ourselves, which is the part those shops no longer want to do.

What Americans order through Cyprus
Greek and Cypriot Americans are our natural customers: food, coffee and gifts from home, Greek books and music, church and name-day gifts, and the Greek pharmacy cosmetics that cost far more in the US, when they can be found at all.
- Cypriot specialities: loukoumi, carob products, herbs, olive oil and preserves
- Greek marketplaces and electronics shops that deliver to Greece and Cyprus only
- European fashion, sporting goods and spare parts from shops that dropped the US
- Belongings and boxes from family in Cyprus, sent on with proper paperwork

US duty, paid on arrival
Duty is charged on the value of the goods at the rate for what they are and where they were made. Shipping through Cyprus does not change that: a jacket made in Asia pays the rate for its country of manufacture, not for Cyprus. US rates have changed often since 2025, so check the current rate before you buy anything expensive.
Duty is billed to you in the USA when the parcel arrives, by the carrier that clears it through customs, usually with a small clearance fee of its own. It is not part of our price, and we cannot pay it for you in advance.
Combining orders still saves a great deal on postage, and since there is no longer a duty-free limit to stay under, one bigger box costs you nothing extra in duty.
Paperwork that clears first time
US customs reads every parcel's electronic declaration before it lands, and a vague one is what gets a parcel held or sent back. Tell us exactly what is inside and what you paid, and we prepare the declaration and commercial invoice from it.
Food needs advance notice to the FDA before it reaches the US, and dairy and most meat, halloumi and lountza included, are refused. Alcohol cannot go by post. Ask us before you order food or drink and we will tell you what can go and how.
Questions
- Will a European shop accept a Cyprus address with a US card?
- Usually, yes. Shops check the delivery address and the card's country separately, and Cyprus is an ordinary EU delivery address. If a checkout refuses your card, tell us and we will look at it with you.
- Do I pay European VAT as well as US duty?
- Yes. An order delivered to Cyprus is an EU sale, so the price includes European VAT just as it does for any EU customer, and US duty is due on import. A shop that still ships to the US itself may sell without VAT; when it does, buying direct can be cheaper, and we would rather you knew.
- How long does it take to reach the USA?
- Express usually arrives within a few working days of leaving Limassol; post takes a few weeks. Add the shop's own delivery time to Cyprus, typically a few days from Greece and under a week from elsewhere in the EU.
- Is there still a duty-free allowance for small parcels?
- No. The US suspended its $800 duty-free allowance for every country in August 2025, so even a small parcel pays duty. It is billed to you in the USA when the parcel arrives.
- Can you send halloumi to the US?
- No. The US refuses most dairy and meat from abroad. Loukoumi, carob syrup, coffee, herbs and olive oil travel well, and need an FDA prior notice, which we will talk you through.
