Frequently asked questions
If it is not here, email hello@shipfromcyprus.com and a person will answer.
- Who is this for?
- Anyone without a Cyprus address who wants to buy from Cypriot or European retailers that will not ship to them — Cypriots living abroad, people with family here, and buyers anywhere who want Cypriot goods without paying a retailer's international shipping rate.
- How long does it take to get my address?
- About a minute. You sign up, and your suite number is issued straight away. You can start using it at checkout immediately.
- Do I need to send you ID?
- Yes, before your first outbound shipment. We lodge export declarations in your name as a licensed forwarding agent, and that carries legal weight. Your ID sits in encrypted private storage and is never shared with retailers or carriers.
- How long can you hold my parcels?
- 30 days free on the standard account, 90 on Premium. After that it is a small daily charge per parcel. Your dashboard shows the exact date each parcel starts costing.
- What does consolidation actually save?
- Usually more than people expect. Carriers bill on volumetric weight — the size of the box, not just what is in it. Repacking three retail boxes into one commonly cuts the billable weight by a third or more, which on a long-haul shipment is often tens of euros.
- Can you ship food, wine and spirits?
- Sometimes, and it depends entirely on the destination. Halloumi and other dairy is banned from import into many non-EU countries. Alcohol — Commandaria, zivania — is restricted by most couriers and prohibited by post. Ask us before you order rather than after, and we will tell you honestly whether it can go.
- Which carriers do you use?
- FedEx for express and Cyprus Post for economy, quoted side by side so you can trade cost against speed. For anything too large or heavy for a courier we arrange air or sea freight directly.
- Will I pay tax when it arrives?
- Possibly — import duty and VAT are charged by your own country, not by us. We show an estimate before you pay so you can decide with the full number in front of you.
- What if a parcel arrives damaged?
- We photograph damage on arrival and tell you before doing anything else. That record is what a claim against the inbound carrier or the retailer rests on, so it is worth having.
- Where are you?
- Limassol, Cyprus. A real warehouse with real people in it — you can come and collect in person if you would rather.
