Prohibited and restricted items
Two lists. The first we cannot take at all. The second depends on where it is going and how it is travelling — ask us before you place the order, not after it arrives.
Never accepted
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives and their parts
- Illegal drugs and controlled substances
- Counterfeit goods
- Live animals
- Cash, bearer securities and precious metals in bulk
- Human remains and biological samples
Restricted — ask before you order
- Alcohol, including Commandaria and zivania — prohibited by post and restricted by most couriers
- Perishable food, and dairy such as halloumi — banned from import by many non-EU countries
- Loose lithium batteries and power banks — air transport rules apply; batteries installed in a device are usually fine
- Aerosols, paint, perfume and anything flammable
- Medicines, supplements and anything requiring a prescription
- Tobacco and vaping products
- Plants, seeds and soil
- Anything over €1,000 in value, which needs a full export declaration
Why we are strict about this
The export declaration carries our name as forwarding agent. A prohibited item in a parcel is not a customer problem that stops at the customer — so we check contents, and we will refuse a shipment rather than gamble with it.
